Australian businesses which require skilled workers may bring international workers to Australia on temporary or permanent visas.

Temporary visas in the Business Long Stay category are available for up to four years. Permanent visas are available in the Employer Nomination category.

Employers must seek approval to sponsor or nominate the international worker. The nominated position must be on the Australian government’s list of required occupations and nominees must be offered a minimum base salary.

Applicants for employment visas must have a vocational level of English, have the skills required to fill the nominated position and meet health and character requirements.
